At the request of Mr. Daniel Groscolas, Mayor of L’Houmeau, and on the advice of Raymond Escobar, the town council entrusted the Nicolas Salagnac workshop with the creation and engraving of the dies for a 70-mm diameter medal, face and reverse, produced in bronze by Société Pichard-Balme. The village of L’Houmeau faces the Ile de Ré, and is part of the first crown of the Communauté d’Agglomération de La Rochelle.
This medal features three symbolic locations for the village of L’Houmeau: the town hall, and the dovecote on the left. Then, at the bottom, the Port du Plomb footbridge over the Gô river.
The reverse of the medal reads: “With the compliments of the Mayor and the commune of l’Houmeau”.
First step: finalization of the model, then plaster sculpture to scale 3.
Second step: reduction machining of the sculpture on the steel die.
Third step: engraving and hand finishing. The dies are then heat-treated before the medals are produced.
