At the request of Joseph Viola, MOF cuisine in 2004, I created and produced a new medallion plaque to mark the image of the MOF. This project received the approval of the national headquarters of the Meilleurs Ouvriers de France and is intended for MOF only.
This bronze piece is composed with the new MOF logo, the external shape of our medal, the map of France, and the text « Meilleur Ouvrier de France ».
This medal is approximately 250 mm in diameter, it is in patinated bronze.
These medals are made by Emmanuel Galmiche, MOF in 2004, in a foundry. Each piece is marked with his punch and checked by him.
I receive these medallions, and I give them to a polisher who takes each piece, the angles and the surfaces to give the piece all its shine.
Finally, I engrave by hand, the name and first name of the MOF, at the top, then his promotion at the bottom. The medallion is then numbered, then signed by engraving (this is to give it authenticity – not copyable).
The finish of the medallion can be either polished and light in color (bronze color), or oxidized and worked with a darker, browner, less shiny patina. Each medallion is finally waxed.
